Duneira, a historic house and garden at Mt Macedon, is approximately 1-1.5h drive from Melbourne. The 1875 historic Victorian homestead is in excellent condition and is warm and inviting. With its own magical climate and fresh air, Duneira is a place of timeless elegance and beauty, with a touch of old England.
The house is situated in a large and very beautiful English style estate with sequences of walled gardens and enormous trees around pleasant rolling lawns. You'd be forgiven if you thought you stumbled thru the looking glass & ended up in an English garden... Majestic long driveway lined with towering Elms, bluebells & forget-me-nots, holly hedges, expansive lawns, lilac bushes, chestnuts, oaks to name a few. Your eyes are drawn to abundant roses, camellias, azaleas & rhododendrons in flower & other annuals not in bloom. Trees - both deciduous, evergreen & indigenous including some exotic species.
Photographers haven and must visit in spring and autumn!
